Writing an Effective Cover Letter

Your cover letter is an excellent opportunity to distinguish yourself from other candidates. This is the time to highlight your skills and show why you’re the ideal candidate for the position. Begin your cover letter with a strong opening statement that will grab the hiring manager’s attention and increase your chances of getting an interview. Highlight relevant skills and experience that are consistent with the company’s needs and the position to which you are applying to. Keep it short and avoid regurgitating what’s already on your resume.
